The flush mount hardware contains a big canopy that mounts directly to the motor housing of the ceiling fan, around the same area you would connect the down rod. Though there is a down side of flush mounting and hugger ceiling fans, due to the small amount of space between the ceiling fan blades and ceiling. The less distance between the blades and ceiling, the less air the fan will pull.. Hugger ceiling fan blade brackets tend to be longer and more of a down curve to them than regular mounted ceiling fans, this is to increase the space between the blades and ceiling. |
